How to Become a Better Speaker in One Day
Presentation skills are an absolute must for anyone who aspires to influence, get visible and
move up. Most organizations will not promote someone who presents poorly. To ensure anyone
has the opportunity to give presentations that have impact, we offer this introductory class that
will lay the groundwork for real improvement.
In one day, people will learn, practice and gain confidence in their ability to present.
What’s covered:
- Where does the fear of public speaking come from?
- What can be done to allay the fear and go forward?
- The basics of presenting well
- How to open a presentation
- How to close a presentation
- How to handle Q&A
- Putting together a good story
- A proven structure to use for presentations meant to influence and persuade
- Ways to pull the audience into the presentation
- Mistakes to avoid when presenting
In the afternoon, participants will give a 3-minute presentation using the speech structure they learned. The presentation will be recorded and provided back to them afterwards. They will receive a critique of the presentation to help them understand ways to improve upon it.
The class is designed to run from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm with brief morning and afternoon breaks along with a lunch break. It should be delivered in person for groups of 10 or less. We presume you will provide the training room at your facility. If you need a training room provided, let us know and we can help you with that.
Your instructor is Michael Neuendorff, a professional speaker who studied the art of public speaking for decades and learned from giants in public speaking including Patricia Fripp, Steve and Dawn Siebold, Craig Valentine, Ed Tate and Darren Lacroix. Michael is not only a great speaker, but also an excellent trainer. Participants will learn and enjoy the experience.
