Emotional Intelligence Classes
What is Emotional Intelligence?
Emotional Intelligence (EI), otherwise known as emotional quotient (EQ), is a set of skills that help us better perceive, understand and manage emotions in ourselves and others.
Living with emotional intelligence can improve your mindset, relationships, and various other aspects of your personal life pertaining to emotional regulation and social interaction.
When it comes to developing emotional intelligence in the workplace, training can yield many benefits, including an increased ability to manage talent and drive results.
That’s why we offer classes for emotional intelligence at Bay Area Executive Coach.
Here is an overview of some of the top benefits of emotional intelligence leadership training, followed by an explanation of our three class options.
Benefits of Emotional Intelligence Training for Business
1. Do What AI Can’t: Empathize
Raising our EI through structured emotional intelligence training enables us to be a positive influence to those around us as we better manage our own emotional states and presence. In the recent past, numerous research organizations have published that the demand for emotional intelligence will rise even more in the coming years as a counter-balance to the rise of AI.
2. Build Awareness of Your Strengths and Weaknesses
No one is perfect. We’re all human. And that can be good in certain contexts, and frustrating or disadvantageous in others. But emotional intelligence courses can help you develop greater self-awareness, which, if actively used alongside self improvement measures, can help you not only exhibit more effective leadership, but also be a better overall person.
3. Reduce Stress & Cope With Burnout
We are living in stressful times, globally. The understanding and application of EI can have a real effect on the reduction of stress levels at work and at home. Developing emotional intelligence can be life-changing for people at work and significantly impact their well-being, social skills, and personal relationships. Everyone can benefit by improving their level of EI.
4. Increase Productivity
In the workplace, emotional intelligence underlies not just our self-awareness and empathy, but also our leadership skills, problem solving skills, and resilience. People who have been through our programs feel better at work, facilitate more productive work environments, and better lead and engage others.
The Genos model shown below comprises a set of emotionally intelligent workplace behavior competencies. Competencies represent skills and behaviors based on underlying abilities and experiences that are measurable and observable. The six emotionally intelligent leadership competencies of the Genos model capture the skills and behaviors that manifest from emotional intelligence abilities.
The Genos Model of Emotional Intelligence, including the six core skills, is as follows:

Would you like to bring one of these programs to your team and organization? Or perhaps you would like us to provide you with a free pulse check on the well-being of your team?
We call it the Emotional Culture Index and it is an instrument taken online by participants that generates a report that will show you how people are feeling on your team or within your organization. It’s a great place to start if you are not sure of your current needs.
Schedule time with Michael to talk about the change you would like to see in your workplace and how we can help by elevating the use of Emotional Intelligence. It is no coincidence that EI is one of the most in-demand skills for leaders and teams at the present time. We look forward to working with you!
